Cooke Scotland has pledged its support to Netball Orkney ahead of the first ever Island Invitational Netball Games 2023.
The squad of 15 and their coaches travel to the Isle of Man to play in what will be the largest and most challenging event the sporting organisation has participated in to date.
Support via the Cooke Community Benefit Fund will help cover costs of attending the Games and further see the players don brand-new away white dresses and red training kit and tracksuit tops – all emblazoned with the Cooke Aquaculture Scotland brand.
Netball Orkney’s Chair, Erica Tait, said: “Cooke have been a huge support to the senior team through last season and with the Island Games campaign. We are hugely grateful for this.
“The costs associated with training for and participating in any inter-island event are significant and the contribution from Cooke has played a vital part in breaking financial barriers for players.”
Six islands will be represented at the games, including Orkney and Shetland, with all teams playing each other from 7-11 November.
We welcome applications to our Cooke Community Benefit Fund to support the fundraising efforts of local groups, service clubs and charities which, in partnership with us, also contribute to the social network and economic health of the coastal and rural communities around us.
